Today I will be reviewing
the A-Top Z-Alien ATX mid-tower, courtesy of the folks at
Xoxide.com. This is the latest case to bear likeness to everybody’s
favorite Roswell refugees, and it most certainly will not be the last. A-Top
has been in the business for 12 years according to their website, so this case
has not been designed by amateurs and should be full of those little touches
that can set a case a notch above the rest. The Z-Alien is priced right at
$120.00, placing it right among some tough contenders, including entry-level
Lian Li and Antec cases. Enough talking…let’s check this baby out!
Packaging & Contents
When the package
arrived at the door, I grabbed my camera and box cutter. The box arrived
looking a little beat up but the case was undamaged.

Opening the box, I found it to be covered in a plastic bag, and capped with
two Styrofoam inserts. After I removed these items, I discovered that the
inside was stuffed with paper to keep the loose wire ends and such from
scratching up the interior. The case came with a bag of mounting screws, four
large black plastic feet, one blue anodized expansion slot cover, a piezo
speaker, a metal clip – and no instructions. There was something else on the
bottom of the case that I hadn’t seen before, a built-in storage case for the
rails!
