There has been a lot of media hype lately on this new
drive. Yamaha has done a good job introducing it's latest addition
to it's growing line of high quality CD Recorders. Their strategy?
A series of press releases, each revealing yet another of the many
advanced features the drive has to offer. This excited many and the
drive has been highly publicized ever since. Today, we look at the first
of a series of new CD recorders, the CRW-F1EZ.
Contents
The
retail version of the drive comes packaged in a nice retail box wrapped in
an air-filled bag. Included with the drive is an illustrated
quick-start guide, a 40 pin ribbon cable, audio cable, software, one
HS(24x) CDRW disc and one 700MB CDR designed for DiscT@2.
Software:
Yamaha included a very nice software bundle along with the
drive.
They have chosen to include the popular Nero software suite
by Ahead Software.
The discs include the following software:
Nero 5.5.8.13
InCD 3.320
NeroMix 1.30
Nero Utility Kit
Nero Wave Editor
Dantz Retrospect Express
MusicMatch Jukebox
Adobe PhotoDeluxe 4.0
Adobe ActiveShare
Adobe Photoshop LE 5.0
Physical Appearance:
Yamaha has contributed to the rapidly changing "look" of
PC's today. The CRW-F1 EIDE version comes in both Platinum White &
Black. The Black Faceplate model will be released soon and the sexy
looking Externals will follow. Similar to that of the new Plextor
drives, the CRW-F1's tray is black (charcoal) in color. This
reflection suppressant tray design is said to improve writing quality.
Another nice addition is a cool "Blue Ice" LED. With a disc in the
tray, the LED is Blue in color. When in writing mode, the LED
changes to a nice whitish-purplish color. A nice touch I think!
