The new XPERT series have nice large
heat spreaders like their PRO series models have. However, they are exposed at the top so that you can easily plug in the
included LED modules.

The LED modules themselves are very well
designed. In fact, there are pin headers on both sides of the modules
so that it will support a wide range of motherboards, especially dual channel
865/875P motherboards.
Along
with displaying vital memory stats, such as frequency, voltage and
temperatures, they are also user-programmable. This is done with there
user-friendly software, Memory Dashboard. Let's take a thorough
look at the software...

The
new XPERT modules contain a CD with the software required to customize your
LED readings. Installation is a breeze and the software is fairly easy to
use. Certainly easier than those cumbersome programs bundled with bay
LCD modules.

The
software also provides information about each of the modules installed,
including timings, temperatures and frequency. Each module includes its
own temp sensor in order to provide more reliable readings.

From
the Options menu, you can customize each module to display your own message as
well as some default information such as temperature and frequency.

The
options are certainly quite flexible, and you
can define up to 12 messages, including three custom text messages. The
software certainly does allow for some flexibility as to how the LED display
is to function.

You
can specify the shift and time speed of each as well as the decimal precision
of each module. You can even reverse the LED display if desired.
So
the software is quite flexible and does allow for quite a bit of customizing,
but most importantly, how do they look? I can honestly say they are sure
going to impress those who install them for the first time. It is hard
to depict just how cool they do indeed look, so the next best thing is a
video. Below is a video demonstrating the displays in action.

They
do look quite spectacular. The Corsair logos on each end of the modules
are lighted a deep blue in color. The display and memory activity LEDs
work exceptionally well. Video clip was taken while playing a group of
MP3's to demonstrate memory usage.
They
have really outdone themselves in terms of overall features. However,
most importantly, how do they perform? Well, in the next section I'll
show you why I have personally been using their excellent XL modules since
their introduction.
