NZXT Whisper - Full Steel Silent Tower Review

Model:  WHI-001BK

Manufacturer:  NXZT

Provider:  NZXT

Reviewed By:  Miguel

With countless gaming cases out there, it is easy for a case manufacturer to maintain focus on such a market due to its popularity. However, some companies are good at expanding their product line to cater to a different crowd.  NZXT is one of these companies and their new Whisper is one that will appeal to enthusiasts on a budget looking for a highly spacious server case with plenty of features.  The Whisper happens to be loaded with them, with focus on two main features...noise and storage.  Unfortunately, as some of you may have read, the first sample NZXT sent over was stolen from my car.  Yes, in this bad economy, I felt victim to a senseless crime.  Anyways, the important part was not only their understanding, but their completely unexpected second sample for review.  With that said, let's have a detailed look at this beast...

The box is quite large and heavy.  It did not ship double-boxed, but did manage to arrive in one piece.  With a case this spacious supporting a high number of components, plenty is shipped along with it.  They include plenty of bags loaded with a variety of different screws and other install hardware.  In addition, a Piezo speaker and a special PSU rubber bracket is also included.

Design - A Quick Glance

The NZXT Whisper may look like just another full tower chassis.  However, they have taken the effort to accent this server case quite well and have a managed to make a server case appealing by design.  The front features a hinged door with some nice aluminum accents and while the rear may look standard, once you look inside, you'll see some unique features.  As a server case, the side panels do not have windows and no model is available with them.  There's actually a very good reason for this, which I'll show you in the next section.
