ATI AIW Radeon 7500 (64MB)

This Video Card ROCKS!  It comes with this awesome remote control that does absolutely everything!  It even controls your mouse.  It has an excellent TV tuner and recording can be done with a touch of a button from the remote.  With a whopping 64MB of DDR memory, this card is also suited for the casual gamer.

On to the mod...

The stock heatsink just looked too weak.  Had to change it.  I decided on a titan copper heatsink/fan.

Removing the stock heatsink is simple.  Simply place something between the heatsink and the chip (credit card will do) and then with a flathead screwdriver, simple twist the screwdriver until it pops out.  Then with a razor blade, just scrape off any excess epoxy that the heatsink left behind.   Next, sand it down until perfectly smooth with some extra fine sandpaper.  I used 400 grit extra fine wet/dry sandpaper.  Then simply spread some arctic alumina on the GPU and apply the new heatsink.  It will harden up pretty well in just 30mins, allowing you to place it back in and keep working. :)

Personally, I like the Arctic Alumina better than the Artic Silver Adhesive.  Unlike Arctic Silver, it is not electrically conductive and therefore, safe to apply.  No need to apply silicone on the pins before applying.  I did not want to run into any problems and wanted a quick setup.

Once the compound is mixed, it starts to harden very quickly.  So you can actually put your video card back in 20 minutes later.
