Corsair TWINX1024-4400 DDR Memory Review

PC Mark 2002

While the score were indeed high, they did not show any significant improvements at 200FSB.

We were able to easily go above the 10K barrier when running at maximum OC.  Again, the TWINX1024-4400 scored higher due to the extra 10MHz we were able to overclock.

Overall, the performance tests were very similar in comparison.  We were hoping to show you some significant improvements with this RAM but we were just not able to overclock our system much higher in order to achieve them.  It just wasn't stable and we only like to provide you with results based on 100% stability.

Conclusions

Corsair has never disappointed us in the past and we always go into our reviews with high expectations.  Unfortunately, this is the only time they just did not impress.  While they still deliver the highest performance for your dual channel 875P motherboard, they came quite shy of their rated speed of 550MHz.  We were also only able to achieve an additional 5MHz overclock, bringing the speed up to 500MHz.  It was able to go higher, but the system was simply not stable enough for us to recommend running them at those speeds.  We realize there are quite a few choices out their when it comes to Canterwood motherboards, however, if you want to achieve 550MHz, we would suggest you opt for the Asus P4C800-E to run these particular modules at their optimum performance.  For the money, it might be a better option at this point to go with the attractive 4000Pro modules which offer the activity LED's and very similar performance results.

More information on these can be found on the Corsair website.
