Conclusions

We always go into every Silverstone review with very high expectations
and the reason behind this is quite obvious. When in search of the
highest quality case with the same focus on design and cooling, this is honestly one of the very few companies
that should be on your short list. Fortunately, this still applies to their latest flagship chassis
targeted at the most discerning enthusiasts.
Outstanding Design
It is when you take it out of the box that
you'll see all the thought put into its outstanding design. The TJ10
has lots of removable parts to simplify installation. It is also quite
spacious, giving you not only plenty of room to work comfortably, but
ensuring support for a higher range of components.
Superior Quality & Finish
As with all their products, the major
area of focus is quality. Outside and in, this was clearly
apparent. The TJ10 is made of the
highest quality aluminum and no corners were cut in terms of build quality.
Also, the TJ10
has what I believe is the highest quality front I/O panel I've seen on a
case. It is made entirely of metal and has an extremely solid feel
that I'm sure will withstand abuse over time. Also, the finish on this
chassis is outstanding and should not scratch easily and hold up very well.
Excellent Cooling Features
The mid section air duct on this chassis is
cleverly designed. There is a large intake fan that is separated from the
rest of the body and relies on ambient air to provide cooler air to your
motherboard and graphics card very well. In addition, it is also designed to isolate
your hot-running hard drives in order to provide
a higher level of cooling performance. When installing the optional 120mm fan between the drive cages,
ambient air is also pushed through and drives will run very cool. For
those looking to take maximum advantage of its cooling features, the case
also has two large 120mm mounting brackets on top of the case for maximum
heat dissipation. Finally, for those not satisfied with air-cooling,
this case happens to keep other more efficient options in mind as well.
It is designed to support external water-cooling kits without any kind of
modification on your part.
Final Thoughts
So was there anything I did not like about the
TJ10? Well there were three actually, all of which are minor. For one,
the PCI brackets do not sport a tool-less design nor are thumb screws
included. Unless you have the right tools, you may run into a snag
installing your expansion cards. Second issue was the length of the
reset cable. It was oddly not as long as the rest and I couldn't run it
through the back side of the case like the rest of the cables in an attempt
to eliminate cable clutter. Finally, the only other negative thing I have
to say is more of a personal thing and not something I will note as a flaw
in design. I'm referring to the power button. I've always been
quite picky with the feel of the power button on cases. The one on the TJ10 just doesn't feel very solid at all.
It works well, but my picky self was expecting something different I guess.
Silverstone continues to expand their high-end
Temjin series line of cases with yet another quality product that is
exceptionally designed. Yes, these cases are certainly not cheap and
not within the budget of many users. However, they are designed for
the hardcore enthusiasts who wants nothing but the highest quality and not
afraid to shell out a substantial amount of money on one.
Its exceptional design, superior quality and excellent cooling features
earns our very highest recommendation.
More information on the new Silverstone Temjin
TJ10 can be found on the
Silverstone Website. The TJ10 is available in black or silver,
both of which are offered with or without a side panel window.
