Silverstone Tundra TD01 External Liquid Cooling System Review

Model:  Tundra TD01 (Black)

Manufacturer:  Silverstone

Provider:  Silverstone

Reviewed By:  Miguel

Review Date:  01/21/07

Silverstone gained a high level of respect in such a short time simply due to the overall quality of their products.  Personally, in this area, they are truly unmatched.  No matter what the cost, they dedicate themselves in not only building the highest quality products, but most are simply a work of art.  The product I have the pleasure of showing you today certainly is one of them.  The minute you take this product out of its box, you'll be completely in awe with its beauty and level of quality.  No, this is not another quality case from the company.  This happens to be their first liquid cooled system primarily targeted at HTPC enthusiasts.  Sporting an enhanced unibody construction, its highly appealing frame is designed to function as a radiator, thus providing a large surface area that will allow this liquid cooling system to run optimally without the need for noisy fans.  Stick with me here, I'm sure you'll appreciate just how impressively designed this product really is.

Now, I'll admit that I was completely shocked when I saw the packaging and just how large this cooler really is.  Based on the pictures I've seen, I just didn't seem that big.  But then again, there's a reason behind that which I'll elaborate further later in this article.  Moving on, the product is extremely well-packaged to prevent any damage during shipment.  There's a large white box along with the Tundra that includes all the required accessories.  They include...

  • A super impressive copper/acrylic water block

  • Retention brackets supporting socket 754/939/940/AM2 processors

  • 2 x 500cc bottles of their own high performance coolant

  • I/O valve PCI bracket

  • 1/4" standard tubing

  • Main power plug

  • 4 x CPU mounting screws

  • CPU thermal compound

  • Hex tool for panel removal

  • Installation instructions (with pics)
