8X: 7% |
This
drive is capable of reading CD media at the faster speed of 48x. The max
transfer rate was just slightly under it. Also, the seek times and CPU
usage were an improvement over some of the previous Lite-ON drives we have
reviewed.

All
drives usually tend to struggle a bit with CDRW media as shown in our results.
Maximum transfer rate on CDRW media was 30.57x. Overall, the results
were on par with the previous Lite-On drives we have looked at.
4.
DAE - Advanced Quality Tests

Lite-On drives always perform very well in our
advanced digital audio extraction tests. What was puzzling here,
however, was the on-the-fly copying at 8x failed while it did well at higher
rates. I performed these tests three times with three different brands
of media and came up with the exact same results. Other than this, the
drive did exceptionally well in these tests.
