Primera Signature Z1 CD/DVD Printer Review

Model:  Signature Z1

Manufacturer:  Primera Technology

Provider:  Primera Technology

Reviewed By:  Miguel

Review Date:  11/10/2004

As a musician, music lover and video enthusiast, I have personally burned and designed my fair share of custom CD's and DVD's over the course of many years. I have always resorted to the most viable method...CD/DVD labels.  However, this can not only be quite costly, but also a bit more of a hassle, and it why I continue to search for a more cost-effective and professional means of creating CD/DVD Labels.  That is where the Primera Signature Z1 CD/DVD printer comes in.  It's an affordable and more professional solution to creating your own custom CD's or DVD's without having to deal with labels and/or messy markers. Today, we have the pleasure of looking at this product that will suite both the consumer and business user alike.

Primera generously provided two additional color ribbons and a spindle of CDRs for testing purposes.  However, the consumer retail packaging itself includes a users manual, power adapter, USB cable, one black ribbon cartridge, a blank CDR and a CD containing both hardware drivers and print design software.

The printer itself is nice and compact.  There is a large power button and a plastic see-through lid which will allow access so that you to insert/replace the ribbon cartridge and CDR as well as see its printing progress.   Instructions are conveniently provided on the white label inside the unit.  On the rear of the unit, you'll find your power and USB connectors.
