Icemat Siberia Headphones

Model:  Siberia

Manufacturer:  Icemat

Provider:  Icemat

As one can infer from the name, Icemat has long been well known in the gaming world for their top notch glass mouse pads. However, Icemat has apparently decided that they don’t want to be limited to this and have started to release a line of audio products. The product we have on the review bench today is the second item released from the IcematAudio lineup. Called the Siberia, this two channel headset is complete with a microphone, volume controls, and the cool look that we’ve seen before in Icemat’s products. Let’s take a closer look!

The Siberia arrived in a very slick looking retail package with a large window to display the headset, as well as plenty of pictures and numbers.

Removing the goods from the box, we have the Siberia itself, a manual, Microphone, and an extension cable with a volume control box on it.

The white and black color scheme is a neat eye catcher, considering most manufacturers use silver or black. This theme even covers the wires and microphone as well…It almost looks like it was pulled out of the gear bag of a Star Wars Storm Trooper.

The Siberia is relatively lightweight, and has a suspension strap that will evenly distribute this load over the top of your head. The earpieces are covered with soft felt, another interesting departure from the norm. There is a small grille on the back of each earpiece, to allow you to wear the Siberia headset without being deaf.

The microphone is shipped attached to the extension cable, but can be completely detached or reattached as the situation requires. The simple clip on microphone has a single switch to turn it on or off. I was surprised to see this setup, as most gamers use a boom microphone.
