Seagate 750GB SATA II Hard Drive Review

Conclusions

Seagate's 750MB desktop hard drive offers not only ample space for storage-hungry systems, but also manages to impress in terms of overall performance as well.  As far as 7200rpm drives go, the results here are about as good as it gets on a single drive configuration.  Pair a couple or more on a RAID array, and you can achieve even greater performance.  This drive also runs quite silent and with this much storage space, it is suitable for an HTPC build where plenty of storage will be needed.  The only issue I really had with it was its rather poor read performance with smaller files on the actual read tests.  However, all other tests were actually above what I expected.  With that said, this drive is recommend.

More information on the Seagate 7200.10 750GB Desktop SATA II Drive can be found on Seagate's Official Website.

Pros Cons
  • Perpendicular Recording
  • Plenty of storage space
  • Excellent Performance
  • Highly Inexpensive
  • Poor read performance on smaller files

You can grab one of these drives at Geeks for just under $140.  While they are "factory recertified", they do come with a full 180 day warranty.
