Raptor-Gaming M2 2400dpi Gaming Mouse

Model:  M2

Manufacturer:  Raptor-Gaming

Provider:  My-Game-Controller.com

Reviewed By:  Tom

Not that long ago, Most gaming mice seemed to have hit a wall at 800 dpi. Manufacturers appeared think that this was just fine for the purpose, and no more work was needed. That was about when the Boomslang showed up, complete with two models – at 1000 and 2000 dpi respectively. Although not optical, these are still hot mice to own. Razer has since upped the ante, with the Viper and Diamondback series optical mice, which boast 1000 and 1600 dpi resolution respectively. Logitech, never the slacker, has also stepped up with the MX518 which has 1600 dpi resolution as well. Today we’ll be looking at the Raptor-Gaming M2, a mouse capable of up to 2400 dpi. Is this the new king of dpi wars?  Read on!

Packaging & Contents

The M2 showed up in a rather nice tin container. There was lots of good information on the cardboard sleeve, but only if you read German. Still, no points lost here.

Inside the tin is a nice array of goodies, including a small manual, driver disk, a couple of weights, Some Teflon stickers, and the M2 itself. The weights are interesting on this mouse, as it allows one to change the weight of the M2 to suit your preferences…a very nice touch.

The M2 is not the flashiest mouse in the world to look at, but it is certainly not ugly. The ‘soft touch’ casing is very nice, and almost feels like cloth when touched lightly. The M2 has the usual two main buttons, with the addition of three more user defined buttons. Two of these are located on the left side of the mouse, and the last is the scroll wheel. The small clear button just above the scroll wheel is the sensitivity button, which toggles through the various dpi modes.

Flipping the M2 reveals four Teflon feet and a single screw. The Teflon feet, of course, will allow this beast to slide easily on whatever mouse pad you happen to place it on. Removing the screw allows the back of the M2 to pop off, revealing a small cavity to mount and replace the two weights. There are two small screw holes here, but I could only find one small screw in the packaging to secure the weights with. Not a big deal…the single screw turned out to be more than enough.
