Razer Pro|Tones m100 & m250 Headphones

Model:  m100 & m250

Manufacturer:  Razer Pro

Provider:  Razer Pro

Reviewed By:  Miguel

Razer has proven to be one of the most respected companies when it comes down to input peripherals.  Their highly innovative mice are always a step ahead of the competition, and offer the highest performance possible, coupled with a variety of exclusive features that will satisfy even the most demanding users.  What most may still not be aware of though is that Razer has expanded their product line, offering a variety of other quality products.  This includes their new Razer Pro line that primarily targets a whole other group of enthusiasts.  Two of the products I've had an close eye on since their official press release are the new Pro|Tones headphones.  Well, these new headphones have finally launched, and today I have the pleasure of looking at both their m100 & m250 headphones.  Considering how innovative all their products are, are these new headphones impressive enough for hardcore audiophiles?  Let's take a look at both...

Packaging & Contents

Both products ship in similar packaging.  The m100's are their in-ear style buds that come with three different size plugs for best possible fit.  The m250's are larger of the two and sport a "street-style" over-the-ear design.  Both come with a jet-set adapter for those long flights.  Also, they both include a neoprene travel pouch that is similar to the ones they include with some of their high-end gaming mice.

Looking at the pic to your left above, can you tell which are the Razer m100's?  These earbuds are almost identical in design when compared to the excellent Sennheiser MX300's and even Creative's own EP-630's.  The real difference between them, other than the straight gold-plated plug, is the technology behind them.  Razer's m100's have their own "ProBass" technology that is said to provide deeper, richer bass response from these "tiny but mighty" earbuds.  I will be testing both in order to compare sound quality and see if it does indeed make a difference.

The m250's are the larger of the two and sport a very appealing design.  As with every Razer product, there is quality written all over these, right down to the brushed aluminum finish and rubber coated clip arms.
