Installation

Installing the reader on a WinXP machine is
quick and painless. It is quickly identified without the need for
drivers. PQI does include a mini CD that includes drivers for those with older
versions of Windows.
Performance
To measure the readers performance, we will be
using Sisoftware Sandra 2004's File Disk Benchmark. Keep in mind that
the results may vary and mainly depend on the speed of your flash media card.

The reader was significantly faster than my old Sandisk USB 1.1 CF reader. The transfer of high resolution digital
images only took a few seconds using a Lexar Media 12x compact flash
card. We also tested a Multi-Media and Smart Media card with very
similar results.
Conclusion

The PQI 6-in-1 flash card reader is an extremely
handy device. Its small form factor makes it easy to carry around and
can easily slip into your pocket. It comes with a handy leather travel
pouch as well. It supports all flash media formats, including Micro
Drives and the new Memory Stick Pro cards. Overall, it is fast, small
and highly convenient.

For those not interested in a 6-in-1 reader, PQI
also offers smaller, single-slot reader/writers that are media specific.
They easily plug into an available USB port and also use the USB 2.0
interface. There's a CF/Micro Drive model and a model supporting Multi-Media,
Secure Digital and Memory Stick flash cards.
More information on any of these products can be
found on the PQI
website. They also got a new and very cool-looking Flash MP3
player that we hope to show you in the near future.
