The Poseidon comes out of the box literally
ready to go. It is already topped off with coolant, and needs only to be
mounted inside your system. The silent 80mm fan only runs at about 1400 rpm,
so it really won’t make any noise to speak of. The installation guide was
nicely done, with lots of pictures.

The pump for the system is mounted directly on
top of the CPU water block, as can be seen on these pictures. I’m not sure I
like that setup, as the pump itself will generate some heat, but given the
compactness of the system I don’t really see how it could have been avoided.

Here’s my biggest gripe. This has got to be the
ugliest polishing job I’ve seen on a heatsink – ever. No plastic cover at all
and it is very scratched and scuffed up by movement in the package during
shipment. Some serious lapping would fix it, but I don’t find that acceptable
for a plug and play solution.
All the hoses are secured using metal clamps. There is not a whole lot of
reach with them, so the only realistic place to mount the Poseidon would be
the rear exhaust. It is possible to mount two 80mm fans to the radiator, or
move the one fan to either side, depending on how you want to set it up. The
reservoir is a little on the small side though, but at least gives you the
proper access to fill and bleed the system.

I immediately liked the clamp system for the
Poseidon. All that needs to be done is to put the clamp in place and tighten
down the wing nut until the unit is secure. The only disadvantage is that it
is easy to over tighten and possibly crush your possessor.
