I was again reminded several times during the install that I didn’t like the way the side panel mounts…although some simple rewiring could probably fix most of the problem. The rest of the install was a breeze, and I didn’t cut up my hands at all either.

I ran the system at idle for about an hour to make sure everything was warmed up properly, and then took the idle temp. After that, I ran it for another hour with both Burnin Pro 4 and Prime95 running, then took another temp reading. Ambient temps stayed at 25°C +/- .5°C for the duration of the test.

Temperatures
Idle: 27.0ºC
Load: 27.5ºC

2 degrees…That’s the second best score I’ve seen, being beaten out only by the Cavalier 5 and its full frontal vent system. The Phantom has room in the front for another 80mm or 120mm fan, but that might be overkill in all but the most extreme circumstances.
