Coolermaster NotePal P1 Notebook Cooler

Model:  NotePal P1

Manufacturer:  Coolermaster

Provider:  Coolermaster

Reviewed By:  Miguel

There has been a growing trend in the area of notebook cooling.  That's without reason, considering that many recently released notebooks do suffer from minor or severe heat issues.  While I personally don't consider any notebook a "desktop replacement", as an IT professional, I'm very well aware of the heat issues that many users have to face.  In fact, most novice users I configure notebooks for do get quite concerned and do end up complaining to me about the heat that generates from them.  Coolermaster, a respected company when it comes to cooling accessories, has introduced their third notebook cooler, the NotePal P1.  Yes, the NotePal may be their sexiest model yet, but does it serve its purpose well?

Nothing much to brag about packaging, other than it was surprisingly light.  I say this because Coolermaster shipped me two products in one fairly large box and after signing for the package, I instantly thought they may have forgotten to ship a particular sample.  The NotePal P1 ships with a thin, short silver-braided USB cable that actually hides away in a compartment as I will show you in a bit.

The NotePal sports an all aluminum top panel, accented by a black plastic housing on its rear.  For those wondering, there are some rubber rings around the fan grills that are what would keep the notebook in place when placed on top of the cooler.

The NotePal is one sexy looking notebook cooler.  Its sleek curves are designed for maximum comfort and ergonomics.  The right side is where you'll find its only two USB ports and large chrome plated on/off button for the built-in fans.

On the back, you'll find a compartment that is just the right size to store the included USB cable for maximum portability.
