XG Ninja 2 Gaming Case Review

Model:  Ninja 2

Manufacturer:  XG

Provider:  XG

Reviewed By:  Tom

Review Date:  10/31/05

For those of you that keep an eye on these things, you may have noticed that MGE’s Extreme Gamer division (XG) has recently undertaken a serious redesign of some of their more flashy gaming cases. So when XG contacted us about writing a review on their brand new Ninja 2, we jumped at the opportunity. The new Ninja case has much cleaner lines than its predecessor, but how does it stack up? We’ll put the Ninja 2 through its paces to help you decide if this case has what it takes to be your next chassis.

XG shipped the Ninja 2 out to me double boxed, although this may or may not be the kind of service you get from your favorite online vendor it was still nice to see. The box was pretty small compared to normal ATX boxes, and I found this to be because there were very thin Styrofoam caps protecting the Ninja 2. Double boxing needs to be the standard with this case to ensure it gets to you undamaged…make sure to request it if you decide to buy the Ninja 2. The extra goodies were a well done manual, hardware, spare PCI bracket, and a power cord.

The Ninja is essentially a beautified steel case, although not in such a degree as the XG Viper we looked at a while back. XG has at least toned it down some on the Ninja, and I found it to be a nice change. The paint is well done, although not ‘mirror finish’. This particular model is the Blue version, but also comes in Black and Silver.
