As computers become more and more powerful,
additional cooling is required in order to keep them running stable.
Standard ATX cases these days usually come with more than one fan.
Additional air cooling leads to additional noise. Rheobus devices are
used to control fan speeds leading to lower noise levels. Today we look
at one of these devices by Vantec. Unlike many Rheobus kits available,
Vantec adds quite a bit of style to their Nexus Fan Controller. Its
striking design is targeted to please case modders and PC enthusiasts alike.

Vantec offers two color options. A silver
faceplate model and black. We will be looking at the silver and
installing it on a Lian Li Aluminum case.

Above is a shot of the silver model with a Lian
Li faceplate on top so you can see it matches the case quite well. The
Nexus has a "painted" look to it instead of a just a brushed aluminum surface
like the Lian Li case but it still looks great. We will show you
more pics later.

Included with the controller are a total of 5
power cables. One to supply power to the PCB board itself and 4
extension cables. They decided to include two 4pin cables and two 3pin
cables. If all your fans are 4pin, you might have trouble connecting
them to two of the ports.
