Today we will be taking a look at the
LLC-U03 Musketeer II, successor to the original Musketeer. The original
reintroduced the word retro to the tech crowd, in a big way. Almost nobody
thought the looks were wrong, but there was some debate as to how functional
the Musketeer actually was. Coolermaster was obviously paying attention, as
the Musketeer II is pointed squarely at a market of its own creation. Lets
take a closer look!
Packaging and Contents
The change in emphasis in the design of the Musketeer II is probably the most
noticeable thing when you pull it out of the box. Coolermaster has made a
strong statement about the purpose of the Musketeer series with this unit.
Gone is the one color backlighting, and the gauges are white instead of the
trademark blue on the original.

The white dials allow the new Musketeer to alter
the color of the backlighting in seven different ways. This time, Coolermaster
is leaving the rheobus to the rheobus and the temp monitor to the temp
monitor, so to speak. The right and left dials now show right and left sound
pressure level, and the center dial now shows HD activity. Notably, this means
that all the little needles will be moving actively when the system is in use.
The Musketeer II is intended at purely being a unique eye catcher.

The manual is well done, and covers all the
basics with eight pages of instructions in eight languages. Coolermaster has
gone to great lengths to ensure you have all the right gear to set up just how
you want. Having the two switch options is a nice touch.
