We have previously looked at two excellent
displays from the leader in serial LCD displays, Matrix Orbital. We were
quite impressed with their overall function, looks & performance.
The displays offered just about everything you can ask for. They
were easy to install and use, looked great in any setup and performed
flawlessly. What more can you ask for right? Well, Matrix
Orbital has done it again, this time releasing their new USB interface
modules. We will have the pleasure to look at their latest and
greatest, the MX2. The MX2 is their all-in-one USB kit that includes not
only the display, but the PC Bay insert with keypad interface and software
bundle. Let's take a closer look! |

Included in the package was
the MX2 display with USB cable already attached, software CD and quick
install guide. What? No power cable? Yes. That's right.
These new displays are USB powered. No additional cables needed!

The Display

The overall build quality is
excellent. The bay is made entirely of metal and is currently
available in both black and white. The USB cable comes securely
attached to the back of the module. Notice there is a power
connector but this particular model is USB powered so their is no need for
any additional power cables.
