Podcasting

Like the Cube 2 that was previously reviewed,
the US2 also supports podcasting out of the box. The software is
pre-loaded on the player and you'll quickly be up and running.
myPodder is a very small application available
from podcastready.com
that basically allows you to download audio files, usually MP3's, directly
to your player from their service. You subscribe to channels, all of which
you can download directly to your player.

Provided you have created an account already on the podcastready.com
website, the rest is quite simple. Launching the application will
automatically check for new content and allow you to download them directly
to the US2.

After downloading, you'll be shown which podcasts did download successfully,
as well as those which failed due to a connection issue or those you may
have skipped during downloading. It will also tell you how much disc
space was used after uploading the new podcasts. Downloaded podcasts will be
shown in the myPodcasts tab, allowing you to delete any that my not be of
interest.

This website is one of the best podcasting
sites on the web. To subscribe to additional channels, simply visit
and and login to your account. You can then browse a wide range of
podcasts, subscribing to any that may be of interest to you. Any new
podcasts you subscribe to will be automatically shown upon launching the
application on the player.
mobiBLU has implemented this feature well on a
few of their new players. For those who love their podcasts but hate
the Ipod, the US2 is certainly an excellent alternative.
