MGE VIPER 2 Gaming Case Review

Conclusions

I’ve been a little less than totally impressed with some of the earlier offerings by XG Gamer, notably the Viper and the Ninja 2. But the Viper 2 is a solid step in the right direction. Miguel has looked at the ione Titanium Server case from MGE not too long ago, and was impressed. If MGE can keep coming up with cases like these two, they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with. The front ports are not that well implemented in the Viper 2, and the constant fiddling with the rear exhaust makes figuring out what you’ll actually get a little hit or miss. For example, the stats say 4 fan slots. I counted two – and intake and an exhaust. The XG website shows a fairly convoluted exhaust that can fit a single 92mm or a pair of 80mm fans. This review sample had a 120mm fan on a single 92mm fan adaptor. They really need to settle down and figure out what exhaust to keep in this case! The websites I looked at priced the Viper 2 at around $140.00 USD. Although not a cheap case, the Viper 2 does have enough to warrant the high price tag. The Viper 2 is well worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new gaming ATX case. For bringing an excellent balance of value and function, the Viper 2 earns our highest recommendation!
