Koolance Aquain ICM-505 Liquid Cooling System Review

Model:  ICM-505

Manufacturer:  Koolance

Provider: PCPowerZone

Reviewed By:  Miguel

The product I have the pleasure of reviewing today is one designed primarily for those who simply can't part with there case, yet want an easy to install water-cooling solution with minimal maintenance. Perhaps you have bought that
killer pre-modded case you've always wanted and have formed quite a bond with it.  However, you can't help but be impressed with some of the excellent water-cooled cases that Koolance offers. Well, Koolance has designed their new Aquain to target such enthusiasts.  Provided your case does have a rear 120mm fan mount, the Aquian is an excellent alternative to air cooling and a very well designed product indeed.

This new liquid cooling kit does come with a Koolance CPU-305-H06 water block that includes mounting hardware for just about any processor. (Xeon optional).  In addition to the water block, it also includes a bag of blue dye coolant, plenty of larger 1/4" tubing, fill funnel, fan mount screws, PSU jumper, instruction manual with pictures, and a front panel display that is as appealing as those found on their PC3-700 series cases.

Before we get into installation, design and performance, there's some information that you should know regarding its rated cooling performance.  To get a better idea of just what to expect, let's take a brief look at where Koolance does place the Aquain when compared to their other excellent products.

Relative performance graph is based on total wattage dissipation potential while maintaining a heat load at 55?C (131?F) with ambient of 25?C (77?F) and fans at 100% power. Actual system performance may vary.

Although the Aquian is quite small, it is powerful and does perform similar to the Exos 1.  While Koolance does claim it features a full-sized radiator, it is certainly not as large as the radiators found in most of their high quality, high performance liquid-cooled cases.  This is not a kit I would run with multiple water blocks by any means.
