Koolance PC3-720BK Water-cooled Server Case Review

Conclusions

Koolance has really outdone themselves with their new PC3-720BK case.  Not only do they address some of the major and minor issues we had with their previous product, but they have taken their product to the next level, offering superior performance as well as features to satisfy even the most hardcore enthusiast or case modder.   Using the same test system specs as used with their PC2-650, we were able to take our system to a slightly higher level in terms of overclocking.  This is probably due to the new 3/8" V10 waterblock and larger radiator cooling fans.  Their new chassis is also built primarily out of aluminum as opposed to steel, which certainly plays a role in its overall cooling performance.  My only wish is to see a Koolance system with full 3/8" support as well as one 120mm fan for the rear and front of the chassis.  This will honestly keep noise levels to a bare minimum as well as provide the highest level of cooling performance.  While some may be a bit hesitant to purchase because of its rather high price tag, I found that Koolance has had a hard time keeping up with demand.  They simply sell out quickly and most sources have a hard time keeping them in stock.  One of these sources happens to be PCPowerZone, which sells their new PC3-720 for significantly less than buying from Koolance directly.  Its excellent features, cooling performance, and the fact that they did address most of our previous concerns, certainly earns our highest recommendation and "Extreme Excellence Award".

If you are inclined to purchase one of these excellent cases, I highly recommend you head over to PCPowerZone.  The sell both the silver and black models for $320.85 as opposed to its standard $369.99 price tag from Koolance direct.   They also happen to sell the water blocks for less.  The new Hydra-Pak HD cooler is quite a popular product and sells out quickly though, so you might have a hard time obtaining one.

For those who cannot part with their case, PCPowerZone also has the new Exos2 external models that do have the same great looking display.
