KickButtComputers Signature Series Custom Drum Theme System

A Look Inside

Note:  For review purposes only, a variety of hardware was sent to KickButtComputers for this particular build in order to help with the official launch of this theme.  If you were to purchase one of these unique systems from them directly, you will have the option of choosing your own hardware from a wide variety of options through their excellent online configurator.  Considering many who purchase one of their music themes may be musicians, a variety of audio engineering goodies are available when configuring your system.  This includes digital audio hardware, front panel interfaces and a variety of highly popular audio editing suites including SoundForge, Cakewalk Pro and MOTU.  Basically, they can be configured in the same fashion as a vareity of brand name manufacturers.  The options are certainly not limited.

The attention to detail is superb, and that included the wiring inside of the chassis itself.  Let's take a closer look at the inside...

To blend in well with the theme, I sent over a Logisys all acrylic 500W PSU that Tom reviewed here some time ago.  This high quality, all acrylic PSU blended in nicely with this system and an excellent choice.

In terms of cooling, there are a total of three 80mm fans installed.  For the front and side of the chassis, they opted to install some impressive looking anodized metallic blue SunBeam Tech silent fans.  The rear exhaust fan is a lighted clear fan that happened to blend in quite well with the PSU of choice.

There was very little cable clutter inside the case and all wiring was neatly tie-wrapped and handled the best way possible.

I was also pleased to find they ditched the OEM P4 heatsink I sent them and replaced it with a Jet 4 HSF from Coolermaster.  This is just another sign that they do their very best to keep the case looking as aesthetically pleasing as possible.  The toggle switch for the cathode lights is custom mounted on the rear of the chassis for easy access.  Speaking of cathodes, this system has a total of six!  Let's have a look...

They are neatly mounted along the top and bottom of the case.  The four located on the top create a spectacular lighting effect on the custom laser cut ExtremeMHz logo accented by the drumsticks.  A combination of blue and UV cathodes are used and controlled by the custom mounted toggle switch.  The switch will control the blue cathodes in order to create a different mood or look when desired.  The other two are located on the bottom designed to light the custom drum cutout on the side panel as well as the rest of the case.

It's time now to turn off the lights and power the system to demonstrate the spectacular visual effects.
