KickButtComputers Signature Series Custom Drum Theme System

Design & Features

A lot has been put into its design so I'll do my best to cover every detail...

The side panels feature an inverted drumset cutout that is laser cut on a diamond plate board which is mounted onto to the side acrylic panels.  The design is very detailed and cut with high precision.

Every Signature Series system comes with a serial number and company logo laser cut on the bottom of the right side panel.  There is even an option on their online configurator to replace their logo with your own for only an additional $29.95.  This assures everyone who purchases one that they are getting a highly unique and fully custom piece of art & technology!  The Drum Series is currently the latest in their production line and our system came with serial C0005.  The impressive Flame Case was number one and is now owned by BoxGods.com.  Phoronix.com has number 4, the first Combat Theme build.

Our custom built system consisted of many spare review products I had lying around.  This included the excellent BenQ LightScribe DVD drive, a Logisys remote start panel and a western digital 7200rpm drive.  A large package containing all components was sent over to KickButtComputers for this build.  Now, what truly did impress me, and a very good sign that they take every single build seriously, was after the package arrived and they inspected the hardware.  Considering I'm one who absolutely refuses to use a floppy, I sent them the only black bezel floppy I had.  They were not too thrilled with it after install and generously replaced it with a new one that matched better with all the other black components.  This is something I like to see and shows just how dedicated they are in shipping a product that is as perfect as can be and one that will satisfy each customer on every level.

Each Signature Series system features a miniature replica on the front of the chassis that fits in with each particular theme.  Ours featured a miniature drumset mounted down on "red carpet" and installed nicely in two of the four 5.25" bays this case features.  They take the time to do some research to find the best addition to every theme and it is one feature that truly enhances its overall design.

Speaking of miniature, the front fan grill is a small and very rare 4" splash cymbal from Paiste that is held in place by a wingnut typically used to attached cymbals to stands on drumsets...a nice touch.  As a drummer, I personally use splash cymbals depending on the band or style of music I'm playing.  However, I was quite unaware that a splash cymbal this small actually existed!   Those who order a Drum Theme case will get one of these rare and very expensive cymbals.  It looks great and certainly polishes up the theme very well.  The only other company logo is a case badge located on the very bottom of the front panel, directly below the front USB and audio extensions typically found in a majority of gaming cases.

Let's not forget the impressive top panel, which features our site's logo accented nicely with two hickory 5B drum sticks.  This happens to be another area that did impress me.  Why?  Well, I never even sent them our custom logo font during the production stage of this theme.  They did a spectacular job in duplicating it without any aid from me personally.  Very impressive.

The cold cathode light inverters are nicely tucked in between the rear 80mm fan.  The on/off switch for the lights is even custom mounted on the bottom rear of the case for easy access.  Overall, every component and all its wiring is handled well and installed the best way possible.  With that said, let's have a detailed look now at the inside...
