Along
the top of the keyboard are your multimedia keys, 18 of them to be exact.
They are labeled in white but the keys are now made of black rubber, which I
do prefer over the previous models. These all work perfectly on a
machine running Windows XP and there is no need for drivers. On the top
right hand corner is your on/off switch for the key illumination, a feature
the EluminX did lack. One disappointment however are the green CAPS,
NUM and SCROLL lock LEDs which deviate from its overall design. They are
3mm in size though and can be easily changed by those with the guts to take
it apart.

I
would like to start off by saying that although the layout of the keys is
identical to the previous model we looked at, the keys do feel a lot
different. The tactile feel of the keys is a major improvement and
don't feel as "sticky" as with the others. I personally like the feel
just as much as the more expensive EluminX model. Now, one thing that
does plague these illuminated keyboards is the awkward layout and small sized
keys. We have yet to come across an offering with true full-sized keys.
The shift, enter and space bar keys are a bit too small for my liking but you
can get used to them rather quickly.
I'm personally already quite used to these, as I've used them for quite some time now,
and do prefer them over standard keyboards. Those who have been using full-sized keyboards may have to play with it for
a while in order to get used to the layout and feel of the keys.
As you all can tell from the pictures above,
this keyboard looks quite stunning without the illumination but lets go
ahead an power it up to see how it looks.

This
keyboard has a light blue membrane under the keys which do a good job at
outlining the keys when illuminated. The only issue I see with the dark
blue keys is that you cannot read the lettering under complete darkness.
Other than that, it definitely looks great and will aid in low light
conditions.
