Black PS/2 illuminated Keyboard with On/Off Switch

As we mentioned earlier, it has a rather plain look to it and is not as slim and sexy looking as the EluminX.  It has four rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding and like the EluminX, it does not have the pullout latches on the back.  If you take a closer however, you'll notice the top is actually nice and thick which somewhat gives you the same angle as a keyboard with the pullout latches would.

The keyboard lights up nicely even under normal lighting conditions when tucked under the desk.  Blue EL wire is used to illuminate the keys.  I was impressed with how well this method evenly lights up all the keys, especially since they are white and not necessarily clear.   Very attractive indeed.

Like the EluminX, it has green LED's for your Num, Caps and Scroll Lock keys.  It would have been nice to see blue ones so that it could match nicely and look a bit more appealing.  Located right above the LED's is the On/Off button.  This was by far one of the major complaints users had with the EluminX.   It is nice to be able to turn off the backlight manually and it is definitely its best feature.

Layout & Keys

There is a num pad with full size keys.  The space bar and top function keys are the same size as those found on the EluminX keyboard.  One thing I really like about this particular model is the tactile feel of the keys themselves.  They feel like those found on a laptop PC but unlike those found on the Eluminx and most laptops, they are extremely quiet...about as quiet as keys can get actually.

Unlike the EluminX, the delete key is located on the bottom row next to the directional arrows.  This takes a bit of getting used to but then again this was also the case with the EluminX.  Now to fit 106 keys in such a compact design, they had to make a few sacrifices.  Unfortunately, this was with the Enter and Shift keys.  They are significantly smaller than those found on a standard full sized keyboard.

Under normal lighting conditions, there is a faint glow that is a bit more intense around the edges of the keys.   Under complete darkness, it lights up all the keys evenly and looks just about as stunning as the EluminX.
