If
you’re on a quest for the slickest gaming surface for your mouse, I may just
have what you’re looking for on the review bench today! Icemat has kindly sent
out their latest glass gaming pad, dubbed the Icemat 2nd Edition. This pad
features an ultra slick playing surface and comes in several colors. Let’s
take a look!
Packaging &
Contents
The
Icemat 2nd Edition arrived in a pretty stylish box for a mouse pad. The unit
itself was packaged inside a Styrofoam container to help prevent damage during
transport. The bullets below were copied directly from the packaging.

There’s really not much to talk about when you’re reviewing a mouse pad…the
Icemat is no exception. I will agree with the packaging here and admit that
the Icemat does look damn cool with its opaque glass surface. This surface is
slick and easy to maintain, and the bottom features six hard rubber feet to
prevent sliding during game play. The new pad is identical to the old one in
terms of materials, but now features a 44% larger playing area, and is
comparable in size to the Razer eXactMat with a total area of 10 x 12 inches.
The Icemat 2nd Edition is available in red, yellow, purple, green, grey,
white, and black.

Also
included in the box was a single strip of Pad Surfers, which is simply Teflon
tape to apply over your mouse feet to improve performance on most mouse pads.
It’s nice to have these since not all mice come equipped with Teflon feet, and
this little touch does make a difference on most mouse pads.
- Long-lasting
- Solid and steady
- Looks damn cool
- Amazing accuracy
- Very comfortable to use
