Kingmax Hardcore Series DDR500 Memory Review

Model:  MPTC22D-38KS4G

Manufacturer:  Kingmax

Provider Kingmax

When we think of high performance memory, a few respected names instantly come to mind such as Corsair for one.  Although a majority of enthusiasts in North America are not familiar with Kingmax, they have gained a strong presence in the US and are well known for their proprietary TinyBGA memory modules that were designed to run cooler and faster than most other modules on the market.  Kingmax ventured into the DDR market and released products such as their Super RAM series, which not only sport unique colored PCB's, but were also designed for those looking for maximum performance at an affordable price.  Kingmax has taken it a step further with the release of their new Hardcore Series modules.  Targeted mainly for power users and overclockers, they are an excellent choice for those looking for the absolute highest performance.  Today, we will be taking these for a spin and see how they perform against our Corsair memory.

We received two 512MB sticks and therefore, we will be measuring performance in high-end dual channel Soyo motherboard.  The memory comes in a gold colored box but no documentation is included along with them.

The new modules sport some rather unique green heat-spreaders with the "Hard-core" logo on them.  I still prefer Corsair's heat-spreaders over them, but they are different none-the-less.
