Nero CD-DVD Speed version 3.01 was used in all
our tests. This is the version included in the latest build of Nero 6
Ultra Edition, 6.3.1.15.

Throughout this review, I will be comparing
against the Lite-ON SOHW-832S, which happens to the fastest DVD drive we
have tested. The results here were good, with the exception of the
rather high CPU usage. The maximum transfer speed of 40x was achieved.

Very similar results were achieved in our CDR
read tests. It came slightly shy of its 40x read speed and seeks times
were slightly higher.

CDRW read tests is usually where I encounter
problems with just about every drive I've used or tested. However, the
LG GSA-4120B handled these discs exceptionally well.
4. DAE - Advanced Quality Tests

The drive also performed well in our advanced
digital audio extraction tests. The only issue was the inability to
read the lead out track.
