Manufacturers are constantly looking for new and unique ways to attract PC
users in the growing modding community. Some products are so unique and
bizarre that they boggle the mind and only tend to increase your curiosity.
One such product is this new Optical Fan Mouse from Xoxide. Yes, that's
right, a fan mouse. The purpose of the fan is obviously not to cool down
the internal parts, but to cool YOU down. Let's take a closer look...

Similar to the EluminX Mouse,
it features an appealing silver/black color combination. There are two
blue LED's, one to light the fan and one for the scroll wheel. Unlike
most other mice, the optical sensor is actually located on the upper right
side of the mouse rather than the middle. There is a switch on one side
of the mouse that will allow you to control the speed of the internal fan but
also allows you to turn it off. The fan is a bit noisy at high speed
when your hand is not placed on the mouse. The combination of the blue
LED with the red optical LED give the fan a purple color when powered similar
to the effect of a blacklight. The buttons have black felt pads which
feel quite nice and are there to prevent your fingers from slipping.
Looking at its features in detail, this is definitely a gamers mouse.
Performance
Thanks to its 800DPI optical sensor, this mouse does offer superior tracking.
We tested it on a variety of mouse pads and all worked well with the exception
of the Steelpad 4S which was incompatible with this mouse.

aesthetics rather than function. Makes a great "geek gift" or suitable
mouse for the modding enthusiast. These can be picked up at
