AeroCool ExtremEngine 3T Gaming Case - Air Cooling at its Best

Features

Unfortunately, other than its superior air-cooling features, this is really not much else that does impress other than the built-in fan controller and front panel design...

Like many of the lower quality cases you'll find today, the ExtremEngine features only a front aluminum panel.  The rest is made of cheap plastic.  However, the design on the ExtremEngine is quite impressive.  Both the right and left panels hold very well via some magnets.  They definitely feel sturdy and truly well-designed.

Serious Cooling!

Don't let its small and light design fool you.  This little beast sports some massive fans that haven't been featured in any other case yet.  Let's start with that side panel fan...

The side fan is a whopping 250mm (25cm) in size and can move a maximum of 162.82CFM.  Yes, it is powered by a standard 4-pin molex connector as well.  Its rotational speed maxes in at only 1,000rpm, which makes it a very quiet fan as well.  In fact, with the front fan controller, noise levels range between 19.54 - 35.28 dBA.  Pretty impressive considering its impressive airflow.

Hidden behind the removable front panel is another large 140mm intake fan.  This fan is capable of moving 68.37CFM of air and operates between 17.80 - 34.72dBA.  The case sports an appealing steel mesh on both of its large fans.  It not only makes it look appealing, but will provide properly ventilation as well.

Now, at least one of the few reviews on the web on this particular case state that it features a 120mm fan for intake.  This is wrong and it seriously upsets me as it only misleads potential buyers.  Get your facts straight before you publish an article.  Yes, if you open the case up, you'll find a second 120mm fan on the front but if you take the front panel off, you'll find the "jet-engine" like 140mm fan I showed you above.  Also, while the drive cage can hold an impressive amount of drives, it is poorly designed and I'll explain why in the install portion of this review.

With all these impressive fans, it wouldn't be complete without a fan controller right?  Well, the ExtremEngine 3T comes with a very impressive fan controller capable of controlling up to three fans.  I was seriously impressed with the quality.  I was expecting cheap knobs that wobble but it features three quality aluminum knobs that feel very nice with plenty of friction when turning each of them.  It is categorized as a gaming case so you'll find the front I/O ports right under the controller.  You have one firewire, two USB 2.0 ports and your audio jacks.

No tool-free design here.  The PCI brackets are all held together with screws.
