Silverstone FP-52 Eudemon Fan Controller

Model:  FP-52 Eudemon

Manufacturer:  Silverstone

Provider:  Silverstone

Introduction

Today I’ll be reviewing the Silverstone FP-52 Eudemon Fan controller. Silverstone’s engineers, originally from the Coolermaster ATCS case division, have put together a very nice package in the Eudemon. With automatic fan control and alarm clock functions, this controller may very well represent the fan controllers of the future. Let’s check it out!

The black retail box that the Eudemon showed up in was nicely done. It even had a window at the top to help you verify the color of the device within and to check out the beautiful brushed aluminum face. The front graphic proudly states: “The most perfect assassin looks nothing like one – Sexy sapphire neon background, Sophisticated electrinical technology.” I’m still a little bit at a loss to explain what “electrinical” is, but I get the point! The Eudemon was packed in there so tight I ended up destroying the box to remove it.

The FP-52 has very solid all metal construction, and feels like it is well built. I’d guess it is almost twice the weight of the Super Flower Fan Master we reviewed a while back. The finish on the front is beautiful, and matches the finish on the front bay devices we received from Silverstone in the past. There are only two buttons on the front of the display, both aluminum, and are very solid. They make a firm click when actuated, and are beautiful to look at. The actual controller display is pretty small, and most of the excess electronics have been moved to the mounting brackets to make way for two ventilation holes on the front face. The grilles have clear airflow all the way back into the bay to which the Eudemon would be mounted. One of the interesting things mounted on the side was the battery…we’ll see what it does a little later. The wiring consists of three temperature probes, three fan control lines, and one four-pin Molex with a pass-through for power. The fan cables have male/female converters on them that will make installation easy no matter what kind of pins you have available.
