Conclusions
The
Chill Vent II is a very innovative product. I have not seen another active
ducting solution on the market before, so I cannot judge this product’s little
flaws too harshly for venturing into uncharted territory. There are a few
wrinkles that need ironing…the big two are the 80mm fan mount and the chassis
mounting system. I would have personally liked to have seen a 92mm instead of
the 80mm, as mounting it would just need a few pressure clips as are seen on
most tool-less chassis nowadays. The chassis system will work acceptably well
on a smaller case, but the giant Z-Alien made it a big challenge to mount. I
can overlook this, because such a large case is costly, and is not really in
the realm of the target consumer. This is a great device if you’re looking for
a high “bang for buck” item, and the cooling benefits can match a more
expensive CPU cooler.
