When it comes to bluetooth headsets, I've found
that big is simply not an option. Everyone I know who has been on the
market for one has always stated that they want something small, light,
comfortable and discreet. The Bluespoon AX, which I looked at some
time ago, certainly fits this bill and I was fairly happy with it myself for
some time. That is, until I received a surprise package from Nextlink
with a new AX2. Sporting the same
remarkably small design, the AX2 brings some significant improvements over their
first model. Let's take a look..

The packaging is different, but does contain the
same accessories along with it. This includes a mini USB cable for
charging, two ear pieces (2 sizes), and a neck strap for easy carrying.
The manual is very detailed and easy to follow. This is important
because most may not be too familiar with how to install and use a bluetooth
device.

The new AX2 is identical in size and weight to
the original Bluespoon AX. It is what's inside that has changed.

On the front, you'll find just one
multi-function button. There are only two other buttons on each side
used primarily for volume. Like the AX, it is available in "silk
black" with silver side buttons.

The included in-ear cushions easily attach to
the ear piece and can be cut down to provide a more snug fit if needed.

A headset this small can only be powered by a
small coin cell battery. Despite the fact that it is the same as the
AX, one of the major improvements with this new model is battery life.
We'll test this a bit later and see how it compares.
