Brando Wireless Tiny Multimedia Keyboard Review

Conclusions

Brando is well known for their growing line of unique USB gadgets and peripherals.   It is what they focus on best and their latest wireless keyboard is an great addition.  It is incredibly small, yet the keys are comfortable and feel great.  While they take things a bit further by implementing additional functionality in such a small keyboard, one in particular is just not suitable for everyday use.

The built-in mouse functionality is great, but the trackball will disappoint.  It just doesn't work well and if you are planning on using it with your HTPC, should only be a secondary mouse.  I personally have an excellent in-air remote that I use as my primary mouse and this is not really an issue.  Also, this keyboard is clearly designed with the HTPC user in mind and the Office buttons just didn't make much sense to me at all.  While there are some multimedia keys, why not have the infamous green button as a replacement?  What makes it worse is the fact that the included software does not allow you to define or customize them in any way.  In fact, you probably don't even want to install the driver software in the first place.

In conclusion, the Brando wireless tiny multimedia keyboard is built just like a keyboard should be for HTPC use.  However, it is not perfect and some major and minor issues can be resolved to get it to this level.  If you already have yourself a good pointing device for your HTPC and looking for an ultra small, full-featured keyboard with excellent keys, then this would probably be your best bet.

More information on this new Brando product can be found on their Official Website.
