I used a dremel and some reinforced cutoff wheels to do this.  Not the easiest way, but I didn't have a powerful enough drill to do it with a hole saw.

This can produce very good results if you follow some simple steps:

• put masking tape (see pictures) around the area you will cut off including the area where the mounting holes will be drilled
• Use a grinding stone after your done to debur and smooth out the cut circle. I highly recommend this.

As you can see from the picture, I'm using a fan with Clear Blades to add that extra coolness. :)
