Aopen MK77M-V Motherboard Review - Intro, Contents & Specs

Model:  MK77M-V

Manufacturer:  Aopen

Reviewed By:  hmale

When we do a review at ExtremeMhz, we try to live up to our credo and our name, by choosing products that allow the user to take their systems to new levels. It is even more so when we take a look at a new motherboard. Here we focus on offerings that are reputed to be great enthusiast boards with potentially high overclocking abilities, or are so feature rich that they deliver great value. The motherboard we are reviewing today is a departure from our strict standards…or is it?

Before we clarify the opening statement, let’s look at the genesis of this review. By necessity, we were in the process of designing a low cost system. The system we were proposing had to be very affordable, reliable, and stable. Computing power was a secondary consideration. While researching some of the components for this new project, we stumbled upon a gem of a motherboard. Introducing the Aopen MK77M-V mainboard for AMD Socket A processors.

The Bundle

The Chaintech Zenith 7NJS we reviewed here has nothing to worry about. The bundle that came with the MK77M-V is nondescript. Here you will find the standard products included; a manual, standard ribbon type IDE and floppy cables, an I/O shielding plate, and a CD containing all the necessary hardware drivers.
