Swiftech MCW5000 Water Block Review - Continued

Results

The following table provides an at a glance look at the results of our tests as well as the settings we used.

As evidenced by our test results, the performance increase achieved by using the MCW5000 versus air cooling was extremely significant. The performance increase is recapped in the table below.

Sandra CPU Sandra Memory PCMark Cpu PCMark Memory
% Increase vs. Air Cooling @ Default Settings 53.82% 50.86% 48.32% 42.17%
% Increase vs. Air Cooling @ Maximum O/C 25.21% 19.22% 18.90% 18.61%

The most impressive results of all are directly related to the ability to overclock our 2000+ XP far beyond what we were able to achieve using air cooling alone. We were able to squeeze out an additional 912 MHZ versus default settings!

A quick mention with respect to temperature readings. MBM5 reads the temperature from the motherboard's internal diode. These readings are notoriously inaccurate. The reason they were provided was for comparison purposes only, as the goal of this review was to gauge the MCW5000's ability to impact system performance versus straight air cooling.

Conclusion

Once again Swiftech has provided the computer enthusiast a high quality product that delivers measurable results. The MCW5000-A has allowed us to take our system's performance to a new level. The ability to overclock our AMD 2000+ CPU by 58% (912 MHZ) is a testament to that fact. Priced competitively at $52.00, we believe this product is a great value, especially when considering that it should still be viable
through multiple system upgrades.

If you are looking for a water cooling solution, look no further than the MCW5000 series of water blocks. This newest product offering from Swiftech warrants our most enthusiastic recommendation and earns our
