Flash drives are becoming more and more popular
lately and many companies have been mass producing these highly useful storage
devices. Due to this increased popularity, we at ExtremeMHz thought it
would be time to review one of these drives. There are numerous
flash drives out on the market so we started to do some research to find one
that would offer some unique features not found in current models. The
VME BioDrive, available from Meganet Corporation, uses biometric logon
authentication combined with Meganet's Virtual Encryption Algorithm to provide
the highest level of security. Biometric devices are slowly creeping
into the PC market. What better way than introducing this technology on
a portable flash drive!

The drive is fairly small. About the size
and thickness of your thumb. There are three LED's to indicate status,
OK/NG fingerprint authentication and enrollment. There is a nice sliding
clear plastic cover to protect the fingerprint sensor from scratches.
There is a switch on one side that will allow you to switch between Normal
mode and Enrollment mode.
