Conclusions
In
terms of performance, the Asus A7N8X beat our Chaintech Zenith 7NJS reference
motherboard in just about every phase. While it is not as feature rich in
accessories as the Chaintech, the Asus motherboard is a real powerhouse by
comparison. Additionally, we have been running this system as per our
previously mentioned configuration in a 24/7 environment for 8 days, and have
had no stability related issues.
Performance does not come cheap however. The A7N8X is priced at about
$140.00. Considering that this motherboard overclocks as well as it does
(despite the very conservative cooling setup used during the testing phase),
while maintaining rock solid stability and reliability, leads us to believe
that the price is justified. If we were to take into consideration that most
users will not need an add-on audio card due to the superb quality of the on
board 5.1 channel audio, and that the dual LAN ports effectively eliminates
the need for a network adapter, we can safely conclude that this offering
actually delivers exceptional value.
Asus
has had a reputation for providing the computer enthusiast with products that
meets their needs; and more importantly their wants for a long time now. The
